One of the computers is currently down and I am looking to rebuild, but getting hard to find Windows 7 boards (I tried modifing Windows 10 and several Linux distro's, just could not get it to work as a tv tuner, tv recorder, and movie playback). Each computer has a tuner in it (one has 2 tuners, the other has a single 2 tuner card). I use WMC for the front end on both tv's and use My Movies for movies (transcoded on the PC in each room, not the server). My current setup is 2 desktops running windows 7 using WMC as the interface and a "server" in the bedroom running WHS 2011 as a shared storage for the home.
I was up on how to do this a decade ago, but things have changed. So with the demise of Windows 7 and WMC, I am needing to decide how to handle future TV watching in the home.
